I'm back from Australia!
Got really tired on Saturday night due to 7 hrs plus of flight back to singapore, that’s why I dozed off almost immediately when I laid my head on the pillow.
So now, here was what’s going on for the last few days in Australia.
30nov2008 : (singapore time)
Left home around 8.20pm for Changi Airport, terminal 2…Checked-in the luggage and off we went to walk around in the shops near gate e24 in the aiport….
Hunger pangs appeared the moment I caught sight of Sakae Sushi. LOL. And so, I ate 1 bowl of udon plus some sushi….
It was going to be 10:45pm then, sent the last message and proceeded to the gate to board the plane. (It was Etihad airways by the way.)
Up in the plane, I ain’t tired at all. So I watched “meet dave” and the tv became very lag. So no choice, nothing to do but to sleep…..
Around 4:30am in the morning, the sky was already really bright and sunny! So refreshments were served, a muffin and a cup of water if I didn’t remember wrongly.
1dec2008:
Ah, here I was in Brisbane airport.
Followed the tour leader and boarded a bus to our venue for lunch. And guess what, we had dim sum in a place called the “Chinatown”. ..
Took a cruise for about 2hrs to the Tangalooma Resort afterwhich…
Luggage was brought to our rooms by the porters.
(There was balcony in my room too and it was facing the sea.)
Assembled in a café to proceed to the desert in the resort to have sand boarding… The driver who drove all of us up was quite humorous… When the track up the hill got rather uneven, he said, “be prepared, we’re going to the dead valley” And the passengers on board felt like they were in a mini roller coaster. It was somehow a little thrilling….
It was dinner time then, so went to a restaurant there to have buffet.
All of the tour members then went to the beach for the dolphin-feeding programme. But I didn’t feed any..
On the way back to the hotel, daddy bought a carrot cake, an apple pie plus orange cake for supper that night. And the apple pie I ate was delicious!
2dec2008:
Left Moreton Island and travelled back to Brisbane by cruise again and stop by the Direct factory outlet, Australia’s largest outlet shopping centre chain. Bought one shorts and a pair of skinny jeans there. And had a cup of cappuccino plus a pizza.
Went to Chinatown again for lunch.
Headed towards Gold Coast and stopped by at the Mt Nathan Winery for some wine tasting. But of course, only those above 18 were allowed to taste wines while those under aged were given a milky bar but I didn’t take any.
Check-in to Courtyard Marriot. (my room was facing the Pacific Ocean, awesome huh?! And there’s balcony in there too)
Assembled at the lobby and that’s when I befriend with Clyde and Dionne.
All group members then went to a restaurant owned by HongKong people and the food was really great!
Shopped in the shops along the streets in Gold coast and I bought another pair skinny jeans, a pair of slippers and some souvenirs…
On the way back to hotel, bought 2 sets of brasa fish and 1 set of brasa chicken for supper… it cost my dad about 40 plus but it’s worth it. The food were really really nice!
That night, I slept around 8plus(Singapore time). The earliest time I ever went to bed.
3dec2008:
Tour leader offered us to have a ride in the hot air balloon but my family didn’t go for it, reason being, we had to wake up at 3am(Australia time) in the midnight.
Visited the Movieworld and stayed there the whole day. Ugh! It was a day of boredom cause’ every time I visited any theme parks, I won’t take any rides cause’ no one accompanied me….But I went to have a ride in the Shrek2 4-D threatre and queued for the Spooky coaster but in the end, I didn’t take the ride cause’ it was quite dark in there,so just gave up.
No choice, the only thing which was suitable for me was to shop. Haha.
Had lunch in a fast food restaurant and I had had a set of “The Cat” and bought a souvenir batman bottle…
Watched a show by scooby-doo and followed by a parade by looney tunes characters and some other characters. My favourite ones were scooby doo and batman. ;D
At the end of the day, I bought a 49cm Scooby-Doo soft toy and a superman printed tee.
Had dinner in a Malaysian restaurant.
4dec2008:
Visited Dreamworld and Whitewater World, and as usual, I didn’t take part in any of the rides. But there was this ride called the Giant Drop and it was like 38 storey high! Wow! And Dionne spent like 1hrs plus just to queue up in order to ride that…
Took pictures with the koala which were very adorable...Watched an oakey creek farm show. There were sheeps which were super duper cute! Around 3:30pm(Australia time), there was a presentation by the tigers in the tiger island...
Walked quite a distance to a haunted house... But in the end, I don't dare to go inside...Out of boredom, I went to a mini arcade. Well, it was good spending time there cause’ it was indoor. Outside, was really hot. (it was around 33degree Celsius then)
Played basketball and scored 41 in 1 minute and beat a boy by a few marks, which was mainly by luck for sure. Haha. The machine was different like the ones in singapore cause’ there was only 2 balls available per machine...Played other games too like the jackpot and stuff.. In the end, I won 113 tickets and exchanged for 2 pencils and 1 sweet...
Anyway had fish &chips in there and a box of fruit salad for tea-break.
So stayed there until the theme park closed which was like 5+ like yesterday.
There was an optional tour offered by the tour leader. But in the end, only 3 families(including mine) signed up for it. The tour was called the “glowworm tour”. We went to a National Park and each of us were given a small torchlight each as it was too dark in the park at night…. But I must admit, the waterfalls and the glowworm were awesome!
5dec2008:
Today was supposed to be a free-at-leisure day.
But the whole tour group went for the “catch-a-crab” tour. There was activities like shopping in the Pacific Fair. I had had Japanese fried rice and some sushi for lunch there and it was delicious! Afterwhich, bought a pair of sandals. And when I was up in the bus, I realised that the shop keeper got me the wrong size so I had to run down to the store to exchange. Luckily after exchanging, I wasn’t the last one whom board the bus.
Proceeded to a place to take a boat to a river for fishing and catching of crabs plus pumping of 'yebby'? But I didn’t fish cause’ I thought it was cruel to kill fish with my own hands. Haha. There were pelicans along the way..
Anyway the main point is that everyone had got free crab and oyster to eat on board and the crab meat was extraordinary sweet…
On the way back to bus, there was an oyster shell on my bag and I really didn’t know how it got to my bag. Maybe I was being prank ed or the shell ‘liked’ me? Or perhaps, I accidentally dropped in onto my bag…
6dec2008:
Time to go home!
Morning call at 7am(Australia time).
Had breakfast(buffet) as usual in the hotel and I ate 2 roasted tomatoes which I did for the last few days. (:
Luggage were brought down to the lobby by porters again.
And here off we set off for Brisbane airport….
Checked in the luggages and bought a bread and a nasi box in the airport. But didn’t finish the nasi box cause’ had to board the plane very soon. So a lot of rice was wasted…..
Walking through the electrical sensor in the airport, it went “DDddddddddddddd!!!” I was taken aback. Fortunately there was a kind police officer said, “I think it’s because of your hair clips.” And he smiled. So I removed the clips and he offered to hold them for me. This time, the sensor didn’t go “ddd” again. :D
At the entrance of the plane, there was this officer said, “hello, scooby doo” and previously there was another officer claimed that it was cute! Ahaha.
On board of the plane, I had a cup of tomato juice again. The lunch on board was quite good too. For tea break, I was given a raspberry ice-cream… Watched Batman, Ghost town, The Mummy3 and the Dark Knight, though I had seen both before)..
Time flies, I had reached Changi Airport and somehow, I miss Australia…
Today, went to fix my phone in Wisma Atria cause’ it broke down!

view from my room's balcony at the resort.

Beautiful, aren't they?(I'm the photographer for both photos. ;D)
